Founder Kathy Trusty is an independent historian and Black history educator. She delivers engaging Black history presentations for audiences of all ages, including K-12 students. Kathy also serves as a speaker for Delaware Humanities, presenting on topics such as Brown v. Board of Education and the role of African Americans in the Civil War.
As an accomplished author, Kathy has written several nonfiction children’s books on Black history, including I Am Proud I Am Great I Am Them: Black History ABCs, The Story of Ella Fitzgerald, and the best-selling Black Inventors: 15 Inventions That Changed the World. Her latest work, Vocabulary Wonders, is a children’s vocabulary builder and activity book.
